It was the start of the Sheffield Darts Masters sponsored by Riley's Sheffield and Red Dragon and run by Projectdarts 2015 and we kicked into gear with players from all over the u.k but it went to local lad Nick Wipeout White as his form continues to grow.........
The top section of the draw would be very interesting as the first three names out was all former SDM winners as Dave Copley would Take on Darren Johnson and the win of that would go on to face last year grand champion Bob Pinder after he got past a tricky contest over Rob Bradshaw but has fate had it at the very first Sheffield Darts Masters we had a repeat of last years grand final as Darren Johnson would take on Bob Pinder and would get revenge over him as Dynamite Johnson would go into the 4th round coming through 4-2 and there would take on Kieran Evans after he had come from behind 3 times against his opponents with the closest been against Jimmy Buttery coming back from 3-0 down but his run was to end as Darren Johnson would swiftly move into the Semi-finals with a 4-0 win.
BDO World no1 Jamie Jammie Dodger Wilson would be the opponent for Darren Johnson for the last four as he would let the maximums fly only falling short of the SDM record for most 180's in a single days comp.Jamie beat Tom Briggs 4-0 as both players hit some cracking darts and then would miss out on a 9dart leg but hit a 11 to win his game over Greg Beard and did the same in his win over Pete Bramley narrowly missing out on a 9dart leg and was pushed all the way by Pete but went through 4-2.Jamie would then hit another 2x180s as he got passed Enterprise pub champion Brian Lewis before setting up a mouth watering semi with Darren Johnson.Darren would take the 1st leg before Jammie Dodger hit back just missing out on another 9dart leg knocking in a 10 darter but it was Darren who would take advantage and go on to make the final with a very hard fought 4-3 victory to make another SDM final.
The bottom half of the draw which saw Nick White make the final was a very close fought one as nick would open his comp with a close 4-0 win as every leg could have gone either way.Nick and Nicky Bell's game was a very close 4-3 win in which Nicky would hit 2x180's and nick would hit 2x12 darts legs and a 153 Checkout which would be the highest of the day and then he would run into Matt Padgett after Matt just missed out on a 9dart leg earlier against Josie Pattison when missing double 12.Nick and Matt had a humdinger of a game as Wipeout would go through 4-3,Steve Thompson had come through against Nathan Richards,Lee Slack & Neil Beresford,Nick would go through 4-3 over Tommo and go into the semi-final where he would meet newcomer Andy Hircock after Andy had got through his quarter of the draw which involved Steve Meek,Danny Roberts,Ben Stainer,Rich Brown and Vernon Walsh to mention a few and hitting 5x100 plus checkouts.Nick would register his 5th maximum of the day and go through to his 2nd SDM final to take on Darren Johnson who was making his 4th.Both men continued to hit top form as both men shared maximums and 6 legs under 20 darts but the man from Sheffield would just edge a superb final 4-3 and takes his place at the top of the new leader board for 2015 and a possible place on the PDC tour awaits but he will also go straight into the Protege national final with that win too.
