the prelims kicked off and there was some very interesting ties too as two PDC stars went at it with Terry Temple out gunning pistol Pete Roebuck 3-0 and Craig Fisher having to settle for 2nd best against Keith Flint and the dark knight Dave Copley playing well and going through against the strong Andy Firth but the match of the round was the very close battle between Frazer Pickering and Ryan Critchlow with the Teacher Ryan going through by the skin of his teeth 3-2

The 1st round got underway with Lee Bailey and Carl Wilkinson having a cracker mr Bailey just having the last say after Wilkie had missed doubles to go through.daz Johnson got through a tough tie against the very good Carl Moorehouse and 15yo Nathan Richards just been beaten by Danny Hacket.Steve Hattersly scrapped into the 2nd round with a 3-2 win over 18yo Joel Burkhill.Winmau open champion Tony "the tiger" Darlow just managed to have enough in the last leg over Brian Lewis.Rich Beck let a 2-0 lead slip to turbo Trevor Burkhill and the tie of the round was Keith Flint and Terry Temple with Keith just having the edge 3-1.

Pat "the Chuaffeur" Meeson had a tricky tie as he took on Daz Johnson but fell to a 3-0 defeat and that same for Danny Hacket going down to John Daniels the same score.John Bowler had a terrific win over Lee Bailey commanding the match from the beginning.Steve Rumble had no luck as Sean Davis ran out a 3-2 winner and Bob "pinhead" pinder had to much with his big scoring for Steve Hattersley going through 3-0.Chris Gill with a 146 and a 109 checkout got through over Trevor Burkhill and Dave Copley went through 3-1 over Tony Darlow.Keith Flint's progress continued as he went into the last 8 with a 3-0 victory.

Daz Johnson swiftly moved into the semi finals as he made quick work off sean davis 3-0.John "danny" Daniels got through with some clinical finishing over John Bowler 3-1 and it was Chris Gill hitting a crucial 140 at the right time to take the 4th leg and a 3-1 win over Bob Pinder and Dave Copley was the next to fall to Keith FLint going down 3-1
