JAMMIE DODGER TAKES VICTORY IN DARTSMANIA QUALIFIER

Well from the metradome in Barnsley to the Dartsmania final in just 24 hours......

World no1 James Jammie Dodger Wilson hot footed himself from Over The Top Friday night to take his place in the Projectdarts Dartsmania qualifier.

James Jamie Wilson started of his group stage matches with victory over Kenny Hoult who gave the world number one a bit of a fright after taking the first leg then had a chance to go 2-0 up only for James to win 4-1 before taking on long time foe Pat Meeson and making good with another 4-1 victory before going into the knockout stage with a victory over Neil Beresford.Kenny Hoult recovered from the first defeat to go through as group r/up.World championship qualifier Brian Doggy Dawson breezed into the knockout stages with out dropping a single leg as he won all his game 4-0 beating Yorkshire star Jason Elvin,Polish number 2 Jimmy Chojonowski and the excellent Darren Bluer.Jason Elvin would make the knockout in 2nd place in the group.Pdc player and Enterprise pub champion Brian Lewis made his way into the knockout stage with 3 wins from 3 as he scraped a win over Russ Simons and then beat good rival Kristian Larkin and then  Kieran Evans with the latter also going through in 2nd spot.Dean Conoly won all his game in group 4 and he accounted for Nottinghanshire Ace Tom Shooter Sawford,Lee Slack and Gary Bright,Shooter also made his way into the knockout to take on Doggy.

In the knockout stage still best of 7legs it was Brian Lewis and Kenny Hoult who had the match of the round as Brian coming from 3-1 down to make the semi final with a 4-3 win and he would set up a clash with Yorkshire's Jason Elvin who came through 4-2 against Dean Conoly.Jamie Wilson made his way into the semi-final after been pushed by Kieran evans with the final score 4-1 to Jamie Wilson.Brian Dawson came from behind to Beat 17yo Tom Sawford 4-1 and book a place in the semi-final.

with the format changing to best of 3 sets it was Jason Elvin and Brian Lewis had a eventful ding dong battle as Brian took the first set and missed a dart to take the lead in the 2nd but Elvin levelled it to 1-1 in sets and then they ended up 1-1 in legs and so down to the decider in which Jason  Elvin took his place in the final.Brian Dawson took the lead in the other semi final as both world class players battled it out for a final spot and Brian missed a couple of darts to take the first set only to lose out and it was the same in the 2nd as both men bashed the treble bed and in same fashion as the first set it went down to the last leg with Jamie Wilson booking his place in the final.

Jason Elvin (ref) Antonio Cruz & Jamie Wilson
Jason Elvin took the 1st set as he dominated the early stages of the qualifier and set off quick in the 2nd but a high checkout of 146 for Wilson leveled it in sets at 1-1 and Jason  missed a dart to go back into the lead but then only to lose out to a terrific 76 finish and Wilson then continued as himself dominated the last leg to take the final 2-1 in sets with the crowd all on looking as the last four all excellent dartist with Jammie Dodger showing us all why he is number 1 and  for a Dartsmania qualifier victory and he bocmes the 7th man to qualify for the grand final in march and he is joined by Jason Elvin also,They Join Callan Rydz,Bob Pinder,Trevor Burkhill,Lee Cushworth,Dave Copley & Carl Wilkinson in what is already looking a world class night of darts.the next dartsmania qualifier is on the 21st December at the Rotherham Transport club in Masbrough Rotherham with two more place up for grabs

TURBO TAKES SDM 10 AS THE TIGER HEADS THE FINAL TABLE

It was success for Trevor Burkhill as he tried to qualify for the grand final which would have been incredibly tough as 12pts was needed and with only 10 for the tournament win up for grabs two bonus points would also be needed. He got into gear early defeating Lester Big red Bowers in the last 32 to send him into the last 16,Lester who had already qualified gave a good show taking the 1st leg only for Turbo to hit gear and take the win.in the last 16 he would take on Steve Rumble the winner of SDM 1 and another hoping to make the top 16 rankings.Trevor was quick into stride rattling off the match in under 10 minutes as both men took the treble bed apart.Julie White who had come through against Ben Stainer and Tom Shooter Sawford to show everyone why she is Yorkshire number 1 and and has just landed a sponsor was next up for Trevor Burkhill and it was the PDC/Yorkshire man going through to the semi finals with a 3-0 win.Darren Johnson had a very tricky draw as he took on Sam Fordham in the last 32 and came through it well after Sam had taken the 2nd leg against the arrows and pushed Dynamite all the way.It was then the local derby as Darren Weaver and Darren Johnson went at it on board 1 and with the game all square at 1-1 Darren hit 2x180's and a 13 dart leg to take him into the last 8.Matt Padgett beating Chris Keane and Tony darlow beating Carl Moorhouse set up the match of the 3rd round as both Tony and Matt hit no fewer than 5x180s in a 3-2 win for the Tiger to set up a last 8 game against Darren Johnson and although Tony hit another maximum it was Dynamite going through to set up a semi-final against Turbo Trevor Burkhill which did not disappoint with Darren missing his chances to lead it was Trev that took a 2-0 lead and then the match turned as Trev missed doubles for the match and Darren levelled the game at 2-2 and a 14dart leg by Trevor in the fifth with the darts was enough to see him through to the final. The bottom half of the draw it was Nick White that won through as he kicked things off with a bloodless 3-0 win over Chris Edwards and then took on the Brilliant Josie Pattison who had won through to the last 16 and missed darts twice to take the lead only for Nick to make the last 8.Ryan Goffin would meet him there after wins against Andy Radford and Bob Pinder but a maximum for Nick and 2x17 dart legs was the killing point as he went into the semi-finals courtesy of Ryan.He would meet Rich Beck making his semi-final debut after coming through a tough draw himself after rich saw off Tom Briggs and a close one with Kenny Hoult he would take on former r/up Simon Birket who had beaten Lewis Nota and Billy Wragg earlier and it was Rich who beat Simon 3-0 with Richard missing nothing.Nick White then went into the final as he beat Rich claiming the first 2 legs before Rich hit gear but nick just shaded the last leg to set up a match with Trevor Burkhill in the final.Nick threw well in the final hitting a barrage of 140's but never had a shot at a double as Turbo finished well and dominated the match winning 3-0 but credit to both players winning through to there 1st SDM finals.

JOHN BOY WINS THE FATAL 4WAY AT THE TOP

It was week 31 and the final week for the Premier league of darts and it did not let us down......

With two men still in contention and other places still to be decided it was left to the top 5 players all playing each other to see who became the very first Projectdarts Premier league champion....

It came down to one game John Walton vs Trevor Burkhill, this is Graham Bartley's report on the game...
"First leg trev had the darts, and led off with 140, 140, 91 left himself 130 after 9. Next throw saw him hit two treble twenty's and wire double 5 for a 130 checkout and a 12 dart leg. Unfortunately the double proved elusive for him and John saw his chance and replied with some heavy scoring of his own. Which included a 180 and and a 12, I believe that gave him a chance to win a leg which had looked set to go with the throw. John duly dispatched the double to take the first leg in 18 darts. That was quickly followed with a another leg of power scoring from both players taking lumps out of each other, which resulted in john firing his way to back to back 11 dart legs to take a commanding 3-0 lead. Full credit to trev he never gave up and valiantly continued power scoring pushing his opponent all the way, but ultimately couldn't prevent john finding the last double required, to take the match 4-0 and become the champion and inaugural winner of the projectdarts woodbourn red dragon singles league. Congratulations to both players for a quality match, which would not have looked out of place on TV"
Terrific game it was and a credit to the league.
Now we move to the last week and we have to start at the bottom as Karl Salisbury-roper remained the only man without a win as he went down in both games to finish bottom.Antonio "Tony Cross" Cruz was next up and he too was a little out of touch tonight with some solid darts but some that went astray.Chris Keane also never picked up a leg in his defeat to Ryan Critchlow.Ricardo "Cruz Control" got off the mark against Andy Bradbury only to fall 4-1.Tom "Shooter" Sawford moved up two places with a fine victory over Mark Pigot which caused him to fall two spot as Jason Cole and Paul Beck got good wins.Andy Taylor's 5 game unbeaten run came to an end against Ryan Goffin which moved Ryan up into the top half and was joined by Lester "Big Red" bowers who came through two tricky contest with 3 points.Rich Beck cemented his place at 12 with a fine victory and Steve Briggs 3-3 draw with Steve Rumble wasnt just enough to take tenth spot,John Daniels win and Pete Daffins last victory made sure both men sat comfortable inside the top ten.Arguably the player of the season for improvement Lee Cushworth had got himself into contention as a possible winner but a defeat to Turbo and two narrow defeat against Dynamite and the Alien gave Simon Birkett and Bob Pinder a chance at the 5th spot which eventually went to Simon.Darren Johnson's victory over Lee 4-2 was enough to send him into 2nd place on 55pts after being 3-0 up lee rallied with some super darts to match the already great darts by Dynamite and both men kept it going to the last leg which Darren shaded it.the last game was Trevor Burkhill who had dropped to third after the defeat to John and Darren's win and he would play Tony darlow who himself could still steal 2nd spot with a big win over Turbo but living up to his name Trevor raced into a 3-0 lead hitting 17,14,15 dart legs before Tony then hit a reply only for Trevor to take the next leg and a 4-1 win to win 2nd spot in the league.
Congratulations to John Walton on winning the league and £1000 top prize and a big well done to the rest on a awesome seaon full of darts.

WORLD CLASS DARTS AS THE TOP 5 PLAY EACH OTHER

Red dragon darts & Projectdarts Sheffield Premier league of darts

This week we came a little closer to finding out who could be champion as the top 5 players all played each other.Lee Cushworth who has progressed more than anyone in this league was one dart away from leading former world champion John Walton 3-0 only for the Alien to come back and win 4-2 to keep his place at the top.Trevor Burkhill and Darren Johnson had the same result as both men blasted the treble with Turbo just edging it 4-2 which means that only Trev & John can win the title now as Darren Johnson ended Tony Darlow's chance of taking the prize when Dynamite won 4-2 to move into 3rd spot.with two weeks to go we didn't expect the league to give us such a brilliant finish between the 5 players with only a few points seperating them all.Simon Birket got amongst the mix at the top with 3pts picked up and Bob Pinder did also.Steve Briggs made a welcome return after surgery with a 4-0 demolition of Chris Keane.Andy "shiltz" Taylor continued his rise as he beat Steve Rumble 4-1 and Jason Cole made a welcome return to form with a 4-2 win over Ryan Goffin including two maximums.

EDWARDS WINS EPIC AS THE DARK NIGHT TAKE THE SPOILS

Copley wins 3rd Dartsmania.......

With the first round group stages of the 3rd Dartsmania qualifier we thought we had seen it all until now.......

Group 1
Carl Moorhouse swept all before him to continue to continue his recent form when getting to the autumn open final but Carl winning wasn't the story from G1 it was the match to decide who else went through as Christopher Edwards took on Kirst Nixon and it was a battle and half as it lasted just under two hours with the Ghost Chris edwards going through.
Group 2
Daz Johnson made quick work of the rivalry with Mandy Slack meeting her for the fifth time this year and then beat Carl Wilkinson in a tight game.Carl then went on to take 2nd spot and go through.
Group 3
Turbo Trev Burkhill got the better of a close game with John Daniels and then never dropped a leg as he topped the group and it was John Daniels that also went through beating all in the group after the first game.
Group 4
Lee Cushworth made it into the last 16 topping this group with Kenny Hoult following in 2nd but both pushed all the way by 12yo Owen Cubit.
Group 5
Craig Tango Splash Barrat enjoyed an easy path through by defeating Michael Slack and then the Dark Night himself Dave Copley Leaving the PDO no2 with a mountain to climb to get through but a 4-0 victory over Michael Slack was enough to send him through.
Group 6
The Group of death as Joey Woodcock,Brian Lewis & Tom Sawford filled the top 3 spots with only 3 legs between them but Joey and Brian advancing to the knockout stages.
Group 7
Tom Briggs Had a close 4-3 win over Lee Slack to get the runner up spot for the group but it was Matt Padgett flying in the 180's that won the group for the PDC star.
Group 8
Taylor Greaves and Pete Walsh proved far too good for everyone else in the group as both men looked set to go far after both taking out rising star Lewis Nota.

Last 16
Taylor Greaves was unable to continue as was Matt Padgett for diffrent reasons which we send out our humble apologies for.so Carl Wilkinson and Carl Moorhouse sat in the last 8 and they was then joined swiftly by both Trevor Burkhill and Dave Copley as both men beat Joey Woodcock and Lee Cushworth to set up a mouth watering last 8 tie.Craig Barrat and John Daniels set up another last 8 match as both men got through beating Brian Lewis and Kenny Hoult.Daz Johnson beat Tom Briggs and Pete Walsh set up a tie with CarlWilkinson after another 45min battle with The Ghost Christopher edwards.

Last 8
Daz Johnson went into the semi finals after edging out the Rock Carl Moorhouse and Carl Wilkinson had his task made easier as Pete Walsh failed to finish his game giving the Sword a semi final spot. The last two matches of this round could not have been closer as Trevor Burkhill raced into a 3-0 lead only for Dave Copley to claw his way back for a 4-3 win and the same in the other game as Craig Barrat let slip a 3-1 lead as John Daniels pulled his way into the semi finals also winning 4-3.

Semis & Final
Daz Johnson just missed out on a final spot as he went down 4-3 to the Dark Knight in the all Castle Club battle and another  4-3 in the other game as Carl Wilkinson went through in the all darfield game against John Daniels. With both men booking a place in the grand final of Dartsmania it was a matter of pride and money as Dave Copley rattled off 4 straight legs to win a terrific game 4-1 after Carl Wilkinson had took the 1st.

Dave Copley and Carl Wilkinson now join Sheffield's Trevor Burkhill & Bob Pinder,Rotherham's Lee Cushworth and County Durham's Callan Rydz who had already qualified for the grand final in march.
