WOW WHAT A NIGHT IN PIKADO DARTS LEAGUE

BARRY BRITTLE

We had one hell of a night in Pikado Liga this week with the dominant Micky stocks losing out and a game that would rival any seen at the venue before between the Messiah and Ice.We start things off with the game of the season as Owen Ice Cubitt and Brian The Messiah Lewis played out a 4-3 from the very top draw as Ice was on the perfect 9 dart leg for it to finish in 16 but he then added a 15,20&16 and 3x180s but Brian not to be outdone fired in a maximum himself and legs of 15,18,16 and also a brilliant 160 outshot WOW what a game of darts that was and it wasn't the only game to include a big finish as Steve Hattersley smashed in a 160 in his win over Mystery Mandy slack and Kev Jagger powering in a 110 out too but the best was saved till last as Shoots Tom Sawford hit 167 out with a t20,t19&bull in terrific fashion.Steve Hattersley was one of a few that picked up a double win this week as did Paul brittle who is climbing fast along with Lee Thomspson.John Lieber was in brill form as he ended Micky stocks unbeaten run this season with a 4-3 win including a 14 dart leg for John.Lee slack made a forward move this week with a 7-0 and 6-1 win and wins players of the week.Barry Brittle picked up his first win with a fine 4-3 over Clair Thom.Tony hirst also played well picking up lots of points as did Lee Thompson.

Slim Shadey takes Stocks of the Superbear

Well again showing how tough and open the SDM is we had the 9th of the 2017 season and the 9th different winner so far as Micky Stocks won it is a strong field littered with PDC and other good talent.Micky would make his path through to the final with an opening victory over the up and coming Brad Clowery but Micky hit a 161 out and legs of 14,16,12 to win through.Nect was Jack Kerr and legs of 13,18,17 was good enough too and after a victory over Vaughn Fairclough he then met seasoned player and former champion Bob Pinder going through 4-3 in a very close game that included a hatfull of 180's before beating Jordan in the final.Jordan's path was forged by an opener against John Smethurst before a close game 4-3 with stablemate Steve Marfleet he would then see off Ian Hendry 4-0 before a close match with local rival TomSawford who he has met in many youth championship matches in Sheffield but 1st time in a senior tournament and it went 4-3 to the Superbear.Micky Stocks 12 dart leg in the opening game was the best of the afternoon and his 161 in the same leg was the best outshot also.Steve Hattersley and Micky Stocks tied for most 180s in the afternoon and it is Bob Pinder that still leads the way in the points tally.

Micky Stocks,Owen Cubitt & Superbear Jordan Matthews

Adam Warner continues to impress as he won the plate with a 3-0 final victory over notts youth county player Tom Blagg

Couples Night At Pikado With Fun All Round

Martin & Claire
It was a very exciting night at Pikado Liga this week as it was couples night with several of the couples playing in it squaring off against each other. In other games the top of the table changed hands and Stocks and the Boom made there position for the title all clear.Anyhow we start with the fun and frolics of couple night and 1st up was the Sniper Lee Slack who was up against Mystery Mandy slack and although the mystery lady pushed him on a few legs it was Klee Klee who was victorious which keeps Lee Slack in the top 16.Martin Pell took on his partner Claire Thom in a very good match with Martin winning 6-1 but Claire unlucky not to have picked up more from the game also the Undertaker took on the Poweress herself with Paul Brittle taking on his other half Angie and she gave him quite a scare as she levelled the game but Paul edged it 4-3 in a thriller of a game which lots stopped to watch the last leg outcome. Micky Stocks went into 2nd with a bloodthirsty performance of 14 legs without reply as did Ben Beardmore who also managed the same but it was Dave Wilson who took over top spot from John Leach with both men winning games on
Maison Wilson
the night but going in favour of Wilson for top honours.Jodie Bruce had a nice introduction into the league with a sensational 116 checkout in her game against John Lieber who picked up a brace of victories this week.Steve Hattersley was faultless with 2x7-0 victories to put pressure on the leaders.Game of the week has a few contenders with Pete Bramley and tom sawford playing out a superb 4-3 in favour of Tom.Shaun greenfield and Bob Lamb though just win it with the opening game of the evening as both men bashed the treble 20 bed in a corker of a game with Croc coming out on top 4-3.Player of the week has to be Maison Wilson who recorded 2 wins 5-2 and 6-1 over Shaun Greenfield and Kevin Jagger also Micky stocks who was top of the triple this week with highest finnish, most maximums and least darts.

Turbo trev played his hand in this years SDM the overall r/up last season entered the fray with some solid darts and rode his luck but came threw a very strong field.Ryan Goffin made his 3rd final this year but just didn't creep over the line this time as Trevor Burkhill hit the winning double. He beat Ryan 4-3 in the final after seeing off Perfect Peter Beamley in the first round with Pete hitting a 14 dart leg to hold throw. Then beat Carl Wilkinson 4-1 before beating Steve Thompson and then edging out bob Pinder in the semi finals.Ryan made his way there with good wins over Shaun greenfield 4-2,Liam Piddington,Rich Johnson and then a almighty battle with Greg Beard which ended 4-3 to the Manic.the WDL man thenbeat Tom Sawford in the semi finals to set up a match with Turbo trev.Tom Shooter sawford was in good form winning against Ben Chivers,Chris Keane and Ben Dulley en route to the semi finals and Bob was victorious over Laura Taylor,Kieran Potts and Barnsley man Ian Crooks. The plate was won by Steve Marfleet beating sie simons in the final.Highest finish was 150 by Ryan Goffin with most 180s by Bob Pinder and Trevor Burkhill and least darts was won by Pete bramley to give the men the bonus points. So with 8 qualifiers gone we have had 8 different winners showing again how tough it is to win.

Peter Just Perfect For Steel

Steel City Championship was in town again and it went to Perfect Pete Bramley with a 3-1 victory in the final over Ben Dulley.with clinical finishing and good scoring it was a very impressive display by the Rotherham man.Pete was victorious in the semi final with a 3-0 win over Pat Meesonafter picking up earlier victories against Marc ellis 3-1,and getting threw the group of Paul Brittle,Angie brittle and Ryan Goffin.Ben's path was a group with Marc ellis,Bob Pinder & Antonio Cruz before Mr Dulley would pick up wins over Mick Hulley 3-2 and a 3-0 semi final win against earlier victor Bob Pinder.Bob Pinder & Pat Meeson would make the semis after quarter final wins over Paul Brittle and Ryan Goffin. So tremendous night of darts at the Woodbourne as the steel city championship now moves on to the next with Marc Ellis now top of the table
