Anne Lofthouse & Dave Wilson

Well what a week in the Pikado Liga as we have a new leader and some of the other games produced some terrific results and none more so than Anne Lofthouse and her win against new leader John Leach.John had earlier in the night seen of Charlie Stocks 6-1 and Anne had also seen off Andrew friar 7-0 and with the two meeting in the game of the week it was Anne who hit 3 sub 21 dart legs and John also but Anne taking a 4-1 lead which held her on for a famous 4-3 victory but John with a very good win under his belt and the 3 points from the game with Anne makes him a clear leader at the top of this weeks league.micky Stocks continues to climb with another two wins this week along with Ben Beardmore and Dave Wilson who also won his games this week.Antony Ainsworth keeps moving up with a good 5-2 win against fellow journeyman Lee Thompson.Gavin Markham and Lee Slack had a good match with Klee Klee coming out best 4-3.Last weeks leader Maison Wilson also won 5-2 over Sie Simons.Steve Hattersley picked up valuable points this week to keep pressure on the leaders as did tom Briggs.Player of the week has to be Anne Lofthouse and she was also involved in game of the week with John Leach although we had a few nail bitting games with Gavin and Lee,Dave Wilson in a 4-3 win over Pete Bramley,Tom and Tom  with a 4-3 also.

Warner Is Solid As Steel

Adam Warner continues to impress and get better all the time and after making a few finals recently he took the latest Steel City championship with a thrilling final win over the experienced Hellraiser himself Bob Pinder.

Adam was quick into it with a victory over Trevor Tye 4-1 in round two after Trevor himself had beaten Patrick Finney in the 1st round.Adam then threw very well to see off Russ Simmons 4-2 in legs in round 3 with Russ himself having a brace of win earlier against Steve Naisbit and John smethurst before Adam was then victorious against chris Markham in the semi final with Chris path been forged by a 1st round win over Owen Cubitt inclkuding a 128 out,He then beat Lee Wolfe before victory 4-1 against Lester Big Red Bowers in the last 8 to set up the semi final.Bob's path to meet Adam in the final had Mick hulley in his path with a maximum and a 114 checkout bob went threw. He had a win over Sam Fordham 4-1 after Sam had seen off Ben Dulley.Bob Pinder then produced a masterclass of tungsten with legs of 13,14,12 including 2x180s to beat Lee Cushworth in the semis with Lee hitting a 15 himself and Lee had recorded wins over Paul brittle and Greg Beard to find himself in the semi finals.Adam Warner took the chances when they arrived in the finals and held throw very well in the final after leading 1-0 to then go 2-1 down and then lead 3-2 before edging home 4-3 with 3 legs under 20 darts for Adam in the final he really is starting to make a name for himself on the locval darts scene and he looks to have the potential to go even further.Bob had 13&14 dart leg in the final but just couldn't shake off Adam but as we have seen the Hellraiser will be back and still has plenty more win left in him. With the next round on the 29th of April it is getting hot

It was the Darting demon that lifted the Cosmo Fit flights world Series qualifier today in Sheffield at Rileys and making his way to the finals in November.

Lee was a winner of his opening group game over the very consistent Bob Pinder and that wouldn't be the only time both would meet and after seeing of Steve naisbit and another good win he would top group 3 with maximum points and with Bob winning all his remaining games would follow lee into the next round.Lee then would take a fine win 4-0 over brad Clowery hitting legs of 14,16&18.Lee would then see off Tom Briggs in a very good semi final before beating Bob Pinder in the final.Group 1 was topped by adam Warner who made his way through with Martin Sommerton and in group B Chris Lacey and Brad Clowery advanced with group 4 Tom Briggs topping the group and been joined by the other semi finalist James Thomas and those two met again for the 3rd place battle which was won by James Thomas so a very fine performance by all four player. The plate was won by Trevor Tye from Chesterfield and Steve Naisbit also battled through to the plate final.

Magic Marfleet Lifts SDM

Sheffield Darts Masters Series
At Rileys Sheffield

Lester Bowers,Steve Marfleet,Rob Holroyd & Dave Wilson

What a corker of a tournament as Damorf Steven Marfleet was in inspired form to lift the latest SDM with his usual laid back style that has seen him win many comps recently. He had a tricky opener in Evan Hendry the very young lad who has impressed many players so far.Steve came through it well before meeting Marc Ellis in round two with both men having a string of close games this was no different as Steve won 4-1 with both men recording maximums.Steve then overcame Tom Briggs who is a very smooth up and coming player with tons of uncapped potential.steve then met Lester Bowers in the semi finalbefore meeting Rob Holroyd in the final with Steve hitting legs of 15,16,17,19 on route to a 4-3 win with Rob hitting 15,17 and a 101 finnish. This has been coming as Steve continues to get better and better and is a hot prospect for future events.Rob Holroyd making his 3rd final won through by beating Gav Pilling with 2x180s and a 14 dart leg.A win against the very talented Greg Beard before a cracking semi against Dave Wilson with both Men recording two 180s in a 4-2 win for rob.Dave made the semi final with some terrific games under his belt,He won against Sam Fordham recording 2x15 dart legs and then Steve Meek 4-1 before having possibly the game of the day when he took on Tom sawfordand Dave battled through even though tom was to hit legs of 15,17 and a superb 11 dart leg and with that a 120 checkout and 2x180s in a great display by the young man from Rotherham but Dave Wilson calling on all hisexperiance to win 4-3.Lester the other semi finalist after beating Steve Hattersley with a 14,18,19 dart legs and Lee Cushworth with a 14 in that too and Lee himself recording a 112 checkout then played Bob Pinder inwhat has to be the game of the season so far.Bob raced into a 3-0 lead with legs of 17,14,16 and the hit 8 perfect darts before missing D12 for the match and a 9 dart leg Lester then took advantage and rallied off 4 legs including a 136 out to beat the man who hit 4x180s in the game.A terrifc tournament and enjoyed and played by all.
