DEJA VUE AS DYNAMITE AND THE HELL RAISER MAKE THE SCUNTHORPE MATERS FINAL

Projectdarts hit Mulligans Bar in Scunthorpe with a warm welcome and a glorious dark fruit cider as the Scunthrope masters took place followed by the scunny shootout for a double hearder....

The field was world class as they came from miles around to  hit one of lincolnshire major opens local hero and PDC pro Dave Ladley would shoot into the semi finals with fines wins over Paul Maddison,Andy Firth and John Daniels all of them quality players in there own right and a run that included some powerful finishing from ladders,Bob Pinder would be his opponent there after he had seen off Tom Briggs,Daniel Hart and the very good Mark Wilson from Scunthorpe and representing the venue very well.Bob would fall behind 1-0 and 2-1 before winning 4-2 to go into the final against Dave Ladley in a high class game from both men.The bottom half of the draw was just as action packed as Jason Marriot would see off the challenge of Grimsby player Darren Mawer and Daz Coats and set up a last 8 match against Terry Temple who had earlier got past Tony Darlow and Carl Moorhouse and it would be Jason Marriott who would prove the stronger to set up a semi-final against Darren Johnson after Darren had got through a tricky section of the draw including players such as Josh Thompson,Carl Wilkinson,Danny Ligitt and Mick Dawson but it would be Dynamite that would step up against Super Marrio after been level at 2-2 it would be DJ that got the break needed to edge the game and a 4-2 win to set up another final against Bob Pinder.Darren took the first leg before Bob pulled 2-1 in front and then back came Dynamite to lead 3-2 before Bob would level,The last leg decider would see both men throw at a double for the tournament win but a fin performance all day round as United Sports Darren Johnson would remain unbeaten at the venue and become Scunthorpe Masters Champion.

The Scunthorpe Shootout would take place straight after the masters and the form would carry through for Johnson making the final in great style again beating Owen Cubitt & Carl Wilkinson with with a victory over Josh Thompson too,Mark Wilson would come close to beating PDO number 1 missing dart to finish off the semi final but it would be Dynamite again in the final.Jason Marriott would meet Darren there with another victory over Terry Temple as well as John Daniels who had been in great form all day.Jason super Marrio would just edge a tight final to show the improvement made over the past 12 months and prove again just how strong these tournaments are

To say this was a brilliant day would be an understatement as we witnessed some terrific darts among friends at a superb darting venue

SHEFFIELD DARTS MASTERS PINDER HITS THE TOP SPOT AND JOHNSON MOVES UP

well the Projectdarts Sheffield Darts Masters sponsored by Riley's and Red Dragon is hitting full swing as players from all over the country make there mark.

SDM 6

This one went to the formidable Darren Dynamite Johnson who is in fine form this year after narrowly missing out to Bob Pinder in the grand final but it would be revenge on this one.Dynamite would go through a cluster of good players for this one besating Darren Breedon in round one winning the game with a superb 153 finish before repeating that against Chris Keane in a decisive 4-0 victory before coming up against a tough encounter against Matt Padgett who had seen off lots of talent so far today but it was Darren going through 4-2 and then having a crack at the Hellraiser Bob Pinder who made his way to the final beating Lee Slack,Neil Milton,Ian Withers,John Crossland and Nicky Bell only dropping 2 legs in the process and rattling in 9 maximums and in the final Bob would take the lead before Darren would rattle off 13,19,16&12 dart legs to take the SDM 7.

SDM 7

Carl The Sword Wilkinson would return to the SDM and cause a bit of a stir as his smooth action would put pay to all his opponents as he edged out Nottinghamshire county pair Tom Sawford and Jack Kerr before beating Taylo Greaves 4-1 in a terrific game and then would run into long time nemesis Bob Pinder and both men would share legs of 13,15,12,15,15,13 and 6x180's will Carl Wilkinson going into the final.Darren Johnson continued to perform world class darts beating Dean Conoly,Andy Else and then the PDC pairing of Chris Cooper and Carl Moorhouse and having a humdinger with Yorkshire and England star Brian Dawson and match that included 5x180s and all legs under 18 darts and Darren would make the final.Could the final match the world class semi finals well yes it did with Carl hitting 3x180s and a 12 dart leg and Darren hitting 3x180s and a 12 dart leg but it went the way of the man from Mexborough as Darren Johnson took the spoils.

SDM 8

Well this one would be dominated by Returning local legends and the youth players as Tony Darlow would make a welcomed return to SDM and beat all before him.

He would first take on Yorkshire youth rising star Dion Evans and win a close contest. In the 2nd round tony would just edge out Nottinghamshire youth star Max Roberts before beating Pete Bramley finishing off the game with a 108 finish on the bullseye. He would then rattle in 2x12 dart legs in a 4-3 victory over Bob Pinder before been involved in a match with 6 sub 18 dart legs,3 finishers over 100 and 4 maximums with Yorkshire youth captain Charlie Beaumont. In the final he hit two big finishers of 136 and 129 in a 4-0 win over Nick White.

DOGGY BEATS TURBO IN PONTEFRACT CLASSIC

United Sports & Promotions teamed up with Projectdarts to bring you yet another quality tournament full of the best the PDC and BDO the north has to offer and you throw in a mixture of top youth stars and excellent local players and what you have is one hell of a day of darting.......

It was the Pontefract Open held at the Malt Shovel and as expected it was a bumper turnout and it delivered too........

Board 1

Turbo Trevor Burkhill made lived upto his name making quick work of the board in one match hitting 3x12 dart legs and a 15 for good messure but was pushed all the way in the board final from Rick Red Hot Curry who has improved no end this year to prove a worthy opponent for anyone. We also witnessed a future world final perhaps as two youngsters Kyle Bowers and Owen Cubitt squared off in the board q/f with not 25 years between em but plenty of 100 plus scores.

Board 2

This was a RED HOT board as it has a selection of PDC pro tour players as Daz Johnson got ahead against John Jagger and Terry Temple but then found Over the top[ Dean Winstanley a step too far as it was deano who had already beaten Dave Plane and Kelvin Pease to book his place in the board final and go through against Dynamite Johnson.

Board 3

Young Maison Wilson was the star of the board even though he just missed out on the board final as he ran into the inform Mark Helliwell who then found Tom Williams too good and he progressed into the last 8 winning a board that also included Steve Silver and the very talented Dave Wilson and Sam Fordham and youngster Josh Clough.
Taylor Greaves
Board 4

Carl Wilkinson fresh from his Doncaster Open win put in a blinding opening match as he beat Steve O'Donnell in no time at all 4-0 rattling in a selection of big scores and doubles but couldn't find them doubles in the next as he went down 4-3 after leading 3-0 against Wayne Woodhouse. The very Talented Taylor Greaves beat off Kieth Lowcock from Doncaster before Leah Wiltshire and Darfields John Daniels before beating Wayne Woodhouse 4-2.

Board 5

This one had the game of the first round as Jamie Wilson and Dave Copley played out a thrilling 6 leg game going 4-2 in favour of the Dark Knight Dave Copley.but then ran into Dave Smith from Leeds who had already seen off Yorkshires Tom Gregory and Josh Thompson and it was Dave Smith beating the Dark Knight 4-2 to set up a board final against Dean Conoly who had easily seen off Paul Aspinall and Cameron Hinchcliffe.Dave Smith would then win 4-1 to advance to the last 8.

Board 6

Maison Wilson
This was a brilliant board to watch as it was a cluster of good experienced players and the future of darts as Nathan Aspinall beat fellow PDC players Jaron Esteve before having a treble 20 contest against the future of the ladies game Beau and Arrow Beau Greaves and then Nathan would then see off Scunthorpes Mark Wilson who had earlier beaten Mark Lawrence to win the board.

Board 7

Well this board went to LIKE team like that is as Colin Hendry hit some superb darts to overcome rising youth star Jordan Fisher and then Mick Wiltshire.Nigel Daniels and Bob Pinder two of the favourites at the start of the day had to play off in the opening round and it was the man from Buxton going through to take on Charlie Beaumont the Yorkshire youth captain wdging out Big Nigel before going down to Colin Hendry as the captain of team Like advanced to the last 8.

Board 8

Ricardo Cruz
Former Great Britain shot putter Greg Beard hit all the right darts as he flew into the board final with wins over Stuart Harding and Ben Lean only dropping 2 legs in the process Aden Kirk and Brian Dawson had a cracking match as it was Doggy going through 4-3 and then repeated the scorline against Darren weaver before beating Greg in the board final to stamp his position in the last 8

Q/Finals

This was some last 8 line up as Taylor Greaves beat Tom Williams 4-2 in a terrific game which included 4 sub 15 dart legs.Trevor Burkhill produced another 100 plus average as he beat Dean  Winstanly 4-0 to go into the semi finals and Brian Dawson did the same to Colin Hendry.Dave Smith won a thrilling last leg decider over Nathan Aspinall 4-3 to make up the last semi final spot

Semi/Finals

players warming up
Taylor greaves got the better of the early battle with Turbo to lead 1-0 and then again 3-1 before 2x14 dart legs would level the game to 3-3 and both after only a few sets to the board it was both men on the double for the match with taylor narrowly missing leaving Trevor Burkhill to hit the double and take the win in a match that was unlucky to have a losing player and the same can be said for semi number 2 as Dave Smith took the lead over Brian Dawson only for Doggy to claw back to lead 2-1 and then 3-2 before Dave Smith levelled and it go to the decider which Brian Dawson would take with his first at at a double to set up a south Yorkshire final.

Final

Briain Dawson would take the lead 1-0 in this flip flopping final before Turbo would take the next two for a 2-1,Doggy taking out a terrific finish would level the game only to see Trev put in a 13 dart leg to lead 3-2.In the fourth leg Brian would hit a maximum before missing a dart at a double and give Trevor a shot at 98 to take the title only to miss out and Brian level the game.In the last it showed why both men was there as Trevor did nothing wrong sat on a 15 dart leg only for Brian to show everyone why he is a lakeside Q/Finalist hitting a maximum and finishing off a 12 dart leg with a superb 124 on the bull to take the Pontefract Open in great style.Excellent final by both men as they entertained us all and a worthy champion and keeping the Pontefract open in Yorkshire..and we also can see what a bright future the game has too

DYNAMITE ON A ROLL

DARTSMANIA IS BLOWN UP BY DYNAMITE
Red Dragon Darts & Project Darts round up

It has been explosive to say the least as United Sports Promotion Dynamite Darren Johnson is in inspired form of late winning 4 out of the last 5 knockouts in Sheffield and Rotherham area of south Yorkshire........

Darren Johnson & Ben Beardmore
It was a double header at the Transport Dome in Rotherham as Darren swept into the semi-finals to come up against Turbo Trevor Burkhill and to continue there friendly rivalry this time it was Darren who hit 4 sub 15 dart legs to make the final PDBB and in very good fashion he won against Ben Beardmore who had beaten the youngster Tom Sawford in the other semi final.Ben would level the final at 1-1 only for Darren to claim the win.

Trevor Burkhill ,Tom Briggs and Arnie Sidebottom
In the BBKO final it was Arnie Sidebottom who had got through some tough opposition to make the final including Tom Sawford who had made his 4 straight semi final only to just lose out and that's what happen to Arnie in the final as he went down 4-0 to Trevor Burkhill.

DarrenJohnson Antonio Cruz & Bob Pinder

The latest qualifier for the grand final of Dartsmania was won by Darren Johnson in a tremendous qualifying night that was arguably the strongest qualifier this year.Darren would play Kieran Evans and Michael Slack before going through against Ben Beardmore,Brian Lewis and Steve Briggs and all of them have made finals in the past so a full quality field,he would play Bob Pinder in the final who himself had beaten some tough opponents including Carl Wilkinson,Trevor Burkhill and Lee Wolfe before going down 4-3 in the final as it was poised at 3-3 Darren would throw in a supered 12 dart leg but showing just how good both men are.
