What a SDM the ladies gave us this time round as all was hungry to get stuck back in after a month off..........

Julie white would prove a success lifting her 2nd SDM tournament as she would have to play the toughest draw possible and would take on Marie Groves who herself is a SDM winner in what was a mouth watering 1st round game with Julie going through,She would then debra McCabrey who had seen off Kerrie Crompton in a good game 4-2 before Meeting Sara Mortimmer in the semi-final.The top half  Young talent Beau Greaves had beaten Denice Croft in round one and Nicky Hall in the 2nd round before beating Pat Mortimer to set up a rematch of the last SDM,this time round it was Julie White who would win but it was a cracking final as Julie raced out to lead 3-1 before Beau came back to level the game before Julie would take the last. What a game and what a tournament as all women involved would shine.

Mr BLOBBY CRASHES THE HOUSE PARTY...............

Projectdarts & Red Dragon darts & Riley's Sheffield bring you the Sheffield Darts Masters

What a mixture of talent turned out for the latest SDM in Sheffield after a break the tungsten flew straight and good.........

Chris Fiddler from Lincolnshire would take this event and would do it the hard way with Nottinghamshire youth star Tom Blagg been his first opponent and tom could have squared the game at 2-2 but eventually went down 4-1.Chris would then take on PDC youth star Jordan lister and Chris would deliver the same scoreline 4-1 and again did the same to current SDM Grand champion Bob Pinder winning through to the last 4 where he would again have it all to do against Taylor Greaves who picked up SDM 11 and with a barrage of maximums from the Doncaster man it was Mr Blobby Chris Fiddler going through 4-2 also hitting maximums himself.New Generations Callum Loose would meet him there after the youth star had seen off the Hitman John Rogers 4-0,Dave Hemsworth 4-1,Carl Moorhouse 4-2 and the exciting Tom Sawford 4-3 he then won his semi final 4-0 against Nick White before taking on the Lincolnshire star and having the chance to level the game at 2-2 Chris would then take the next to lift the final 4-2,it was a hot day but the the finalist stayed cool and performed well seeing off the challenges.Chris now flies straight into the top 32 and looks a real threat to all come the grand final as will callum Loose should they both make it.

Greg Beard won the SDM plate beating off Rotherhams Lee Slack...........

Taylor Greaves would pick up the bonus points for a 158 highest checkout,4 maximums to record most and least darts with 12..

on another note the youth in the area and beyond is getting to a very high standard as we see them battle it out week after week

TAYLOR WINS SDM IN TERRIFIC STYLE

SHEFFIELD DARTS MASTERS
Projectdarts Riley's Red Dragon Darts.

The latest round of the SDM did not disappoint as the quality of the field was as good as we have seen............

Chris Fiddler continued his good form in the Projectdarts circles as he made it through to yet another last 4 with some terrific wins including a barrage of maximums over Sheffield's John Smethurst with Chris Blobby Fiddler smashing in 4 180's he would then take on Yorkshire legend Steve Briggs and then Niel Ward in the last 8 before m aking the semi finals.Nick White winner of the last SDM would also continue his great run as he would take out Daz Sullivan and Dale Robinson before running into his old foe Nicky bell in the Q/F before seeing him off 4-2.Nick would then take out the finishes when needed to record a good win over Chris in the semis and booking his place in the final.

The bottom half was very eventful as Protege's John Walton would return to the fray and win 4-1 before rattling in a 109av with legs of 12,14,15,14 and several maximums and a 147&160 outshot in what was the performance of the day over current SDM champion Bob Pinder before seeing off Brian Lewis who had also hit 6 maximums during the day and making the s/f.John would meet United Sports & Promotions Taylor greaves there as the USP man would have to overcome Kyle Bowers,Pete Bramley and fellow Yorkshire star Darren Johnson before beating Greg Beard who had beaten some good players on route to the last 8.Taylor and John would play out a belting game with John hitting several 180's only to fall 4-2 to the tall Yorkshire youth star.Nick White and Taylor Greaves would play out a great final with big Tay leading from the start only for nick to peg back to level the game but the rising star would emulate his sisters early win in the ladies event to take this SDM 4-2 in the final and with it move into the top 32 for the grand final.

The plate contest was very hot and Kieran Kezza Evans would win beating Ben Dulley in a high quality final.Kieran would then pick up 2 bonus points with ben taking 1.John Walton,Brian Lewis and Chris Fiddler would all pick up bonus points for most 180's on the afternoon and John would also win lowest leg and highest checkout in his win over Bob Pinder.

BEAU TAKES THE LADIES MASTERS AS THE YORKSHIRE LADIES PUT ON A SHOW

The Sheffield Ladies Darts Masters is brought to you by Projectdarts,Riley's & Red Dragon Darts

What a terrific tournament as both men's and ladies SDM qualifiers got underway and I am very happy to have been part of it and the ladies competition wasn't high in quantity but my god was it high in quality.

We kicked of with the 1st round and four ties stood out at you all worthy of finals as Hannah Gill Took on Kirtsy Hydes and both up and coming youngsters threw really well with Hannah going through.Nicky Hall had a glorious battle with Wendy Anderson just edging the last leg to go into the last 8 4-3 and then the two ties of the round as Ann Chilton took on Sara Mortimer and Beau Greaves and Marie Groves in a mouth watering game that would grace any stage anywhere in the world.Ann kicked of to a big lead which she managed to keep going through to the last 8.Marie and Beau both proving just how good the ladies standard is with both playing a great game that beau would go through.

Sue Miller would be the first lady into the semi/finals with a 4-2 victory over Pat Mortimer and the same scoreline came to Hannah Gill as she went out to Nicky Hall.Rotherham Deb McCabrey gave her all but fell to Julie White and Beau Greaves hit a 180 and a 16 dart leg to finish the game against the very good Ann Chilton to exact some revenge from there last meeting.

Julie White would continue to hit the 180's as she went into the final getting past a good debut performance getting to the semis from Sue Miller and it would become an all projectdarts final as Beau Greaves would hit another maximum in a 4-0 win over Nicky Hall who had done really well to make the semis in her first ladies darts masters.

What a terrific final as every leg had several 100 plus scores as both ladies played out a great match with Beau n Arrow Beau Greaves coming out on top 4-1 over Julie White.

On a side note the ladies masters is growing and will continue as we try and bring the ladies circuit to south Yorkshire and north midlands and I thank all who keeps turning out

DYNAMITE DOUBLE UP WITH PONTY AND MULLIGANS

PROJECTDARTS round up of the last week
in association with United sports & promotions,Mulligans Bar and Red Dragon Darts.

The Pontefract masters sponsored by United Sports & Promotions

With a quality field that turned up to the gem of a tournament it could only make a world class last 8 and so it did with Carl Wilkinson fresh of his Barnsley Open success making quick work of Chesterfield Pete Daffin with a 4-1 victory after going behind.Tom Sykes produced a game from the gods as he beat current Yorkshire Classic champion Pete Jacques 4-0 to advance also and he was joined by fellow USP team mate Darren Johnson after winning a tough battle with Tony Darlow 4-2 and the last man to make the semi final was Dave Copley going through 4-2 over ~Dave Stoner.
The semi finals got into gear as Darren Johnson went through 5-3 over the Dark Knight to book his final spot and he would be joined by Carl Wilkinson who edged out Tom Sykes 5-4 in an absolute thriller of a game to set up a great final.Darren drew first blood winning against the arrows before Carl levelled but then Daren would go 4-1 up and Carl would pull one back in a leg where he missed the 8th dart for a 9 dart leg to make it 4-3 with Darren winning the next to lead 5-3 and then beat carl in the next after a tremendous match and become 2015 Pontefract masters champion. The plate championship would be won by Mark Lawrence beating Curtis Turner in the final.
Winner Darren Johnson(left) Projectdarts owner Jason Burkhill and r/up Carl Wilkinson

We Headed to Scunthorpe for the Mulligans open Sponsored by Mulligans Bar and again a quality field came out to play.......

The first Quarter final was a very tight game as Tom Sawford led 3-1 only to see his lead drawn back as Mick Dawson pulled it back to win 4-3 and would meet Mark Wadey Wilson who threw a stormer to see off the very Talented Dave Ladley 4-0.Darren Johnson continued his terrific form with a 4-1 victory over the very talented youngster James Brumpton and Carl Wilkinson would beat Neil Ward to make up the other semi final. So we had a repeat of the Pontefract Masters final only 6 days before and it was the same result as Dynamite would go through and he would meet Mark Wilson who continued in fine form representing the venue with a 4-2 semi final victory to set up a cracking looking final as both men hammered the treble 20 bed with the first four legs going with the arrows before mark missed a crucial double for an 11 dart leg only to see DJ take it with a 13 to edge a 3-2 lead which he maintained by taking the next two legs for a 5-2 victory which could have been closer but great darts by both men as Darren took another title at the venue after the Scunthorpe open and Scunthorpe Masters. The plate competiton was won by Mick Roberts beating Doncasters Nigel woldsfold in the final 4-3.
Winner Darren Johnson ,Ref Antonio Cruz and r/up Mark Wilson

It was a terrific performance by Yorkshire man Jaron Esteve to take the Yorkshire open in what proved to be a high quality field this weekend......

Jaron Esteve
He Kicked things of with a very tough 4-2 victory over Rotherhams Ryan Critchlow with both men throwing high class darts.to make it even tougher he then ran into county star Brian Hallas and edged passed him 4-2 in another high quality game and it then continued as he beat the man from wisebech Ian Withers who had thrown very well all day and push Jaron right to the limit with the match ending 4-3.Recent Barnsley open r/up Dennis Timmis was next for Jaron pushing him all the way but Jazz would win through 4-1 before edging out worksops Chris Cooper 4-3 in the semi finals.Lee Budgen had seen off a string of good players after survivng 8 match darts in the first round to Greg Beard and 10 dart hero Kiearan Evans to make the final but just ran out of steam as Jaron Esteve would take a big lead of 4-0 in the final that Lee could not get back and Jaron would win 5-1 and become the Yorkshire open champion 2015 fighting off 51 other men and women and the huge top prize.

Both men produced some terrific darts on route to the final with  Jakesy smashing in a 4-0 victory over Derbyshire's Dave Harris and repeated that with a 4-0 victory againmst Gary Knowles and continued to not give his opponent any room with a 4-0 whitewash over Nick White to 12 legs without any player getting near him.Bob pinder would be next and although Bob rattled in two maximums and 2 legs went down 4-2 to the Huddesfield ace and then  Pete would hit a 12 dart leg and two maximums in a 4-1 win over Nicky Bell who had been in good spirit after beating Tony Darlow and Greg Beard.Nigel Daniels would make the final after beating Dave Hemsworth and Dion Evans and Chris Cooper before another good performance in the semis over Brian Lewis before taking on Pete Jacques in the final but looked tired as he didn't reproduce the great form in the final going down 4-1 but both men had thrown some great games all day and deserved the place in the final.Tom Sawford would take the Plate knockout with 2-0 win in the final hitting 2x14 dart leg to win.

Marie Groves becomes the first lady of the Masters

Projectdarts sponsored by
Red dragon Darts and Riley's Sheffield brings you the ladies masters series
A field full of quality turned out for the first ladies masters here in Sheffield and although the field was small it had plenty of quality.

Ann Chilton was quick into the semi finals as she dispatched Rotherhams Mandy Slack 4-1 and there would Meet Super Girl Beau Greaves who had Beaten Kirsty Hydes and Sarah Motimer showing lots of class and the semi-final was awesome with both players thrashing the treble bed with Beau leading 3-2 Ann put in two high quality finishers of 80 and 94 to make the final.Marie Groves was in inspired form as showed with a 4-1 Wendy Anderson and then a semi win over Lindsay Salisbury-roper who hadn't dropped a leg before the semi-final but Marie proved too strong going through 4-0.The final and Marie kept up the power scoring as after Dropping the 2nd leg ran out a 4-1 winner  over a solid display from Ann Chilton and taking the first place and top of the leader board heading towards the next masters series on the 23rd of may

Day of the grand final finally came and boy did everyone come out all guns blazing and it ended up been an all huddesfield final as Jamie Wilson beat Peter Jacques 4-1 in the final and Jammie Dodger rode his luck through the tournament but his class showed why he was world number one.His opening round he rattled in a superb 142 checkout while Daz Layden was sat on double top and the Nottinghamshire ace could have found himself unlucky not to go through but Wilson finished the game off for a 4-3 win.The 2nd round was a little easier as he went through 4-0 against a very good battling performance from Greg Beard and maybe the score did not reflect the game but Jamie went through and showed just how good he is to come back from 2--1 down against Yorkshire star Tony Darlow and take the 4-2 win.Darren Johnson and Jamie Wilson played out an absolute classic game which had everything from maximums to big finishers and a bit of controversy to say but it was Jamie going through 4-3.in the final he would meet Peter Jacques who had got to the final beating PDC player Kenny Hoult 4-0 with a tremendous victory over Jay Foreman which was an amazing game by both men and then Pete would then beat Carl Wilkinson and Matt Padgett both 4-2 respectfully before going down 4-1 in the final which he missed darts to level the final early one but Wilson was on fire by this time and took the Dartsmania final in fine style.

DEJA VUE AS DYNAMITE AND THE HELL RAISER MAKE THE SCUNTHORPE MATERS FINAL

Projectdarts hit Mulligans Bar in Scunthorpe with a warm welcome and a glorious dark fruit cider as the Scunthrope masters took place followed by the scunny shootout for a double hearder....

The field was world class as they came from miles around to  hit one of lincolnshire major opens local hero and PDC pro Dave Ladley would shoot into the semi finals with fines wins over Paul Maddison,Andy Firth and John Daniels all of them quality players in there own right and a run that included some powerful finishing from ladders,Bob Pinder would be his opponent there after he had seen off Tom Briggs,Daniel Hart and the very good Mark Wilson from Scunthorpe and representing the venue very well.Bob would fall behind 1-0 and 2-1 before winning 4-2 to go into the final against Dave Ladley in a high class game from both men.The bottom half of the draw was just as action packed as Jason Marriot would see off the challenge of Grimsby player Darren Mawer and Daz Coats and set up a last 8 match against Terry Temple who had earlier got past Tony Darlow and Carl Moorhouse and it would be Jason Marriott who would prove the stronger to set up a semi-final against Darren Johnson after Darren had got through a tricky section of the draw including players such as Josh Thompson,Carl Wilkinson,Danny Ligitt and Mick Dawson but it would be Dynamite that would step up against Super Marrio after been level at 2-2 it would be DJ that got the break needed to edge the game and a 4-2 win to set up another final against Bob Pinder.Darren took the first leg before Bob pulled 2-1 in front and then back came Dynamite to lead 3-2 before Bob would level,The last leg decider would see both men throw at a double for the tournament win but a fin performance all day round as United Sports Darren Johnson would remain unbeaten at the venue and become Scunthorpe Masters Champion.

Jason Burkhill,Bob Pinder,Antonio Cruz,Darren Johnson and Matt Crooke

The Scunthorpe Shootout would take place straight after the masters and the form would carry through for Johnson making the final in great style again beating Owen Cubitt & Carl Wilkinson with with a victory over Josh Thompson too,Mark Wilson would come close to beating PDO number 1 missing dart to finish off the semi final but it would be Dynamite again in the final.Jason Marriott would meet Darren there with another victory over Terry Temple as well as John Daniels who had been in great form all day.Jason super Marrio would just edge a tight final to show the improvement made over the past 12 months and prove again just how strong these tournaments are

Jason Burkhill & Jason Marriot

To say this was a brilliant day would be an understatement as we witnessed some terrific darts among friends at a superb darting venue

SHEFFIELD DARTS MASTERS PINDER HITS THE TOP SPOT AND JOHNSON MOVES UP

well the Projectdarts Sheffield Darts Masters sponsored by Riley's and Red Dragon is hitting full swing as players from all over the country make there mark.

SDM 6

This one went to the formidable Darren Dynamite Johnson who is in fine form this year after narrowly missing out to Bob Pinder in the grand final but it would be revenge on this one.Dynamite would go through a cluster of good players for this one besating Darren Breedon in round one winning the game with a superb 153 finish before repeating that against Chris Keane in a decisive 4-0 victory before coming up against a tough encounter against Matt Padgett who had seen off lots of talent so far today but it was Darren going through 4-2 and then having a crack at the Hellraiser Bob Pinder who made his way to the final beating Lee Slack,Neil Milton,Ian Withers,John Crossland and Nicky Bell only dropping 2 legs in the process and rattling in 9 maximums and in the final Bob would take the lead before Darren would rattle off 13,19,16&12 dart legs to take the SDM 7.
Darren Johnson with Antonio Cruz(ref) and Bob Pinder

SDM 7

Carl The Sword Wilkinson would return to the SDM and cause a bit of a stir as his smooth action would put pay to all his opponents as he edged out Nottinghamshire county pair Tom Sawford and Jack Kerr before beating Taylo Greaves 4-1 in a terrific game and then would run into long time nemesis Bob Pinder and both men would share legs of 13,15,12,15,15,13 and 6x180's will Carl Wilkinson going into the final.Darren Johnson continued to perform world class darts beating Dean Conoly,Andy Else and then the PDC pairing of Chris Cooper and Carl Moorhouse and having a humdinger with Yorkshire and England star Brian Dawson and match that included 5x180s and all legs under 18 darts and Darren would make the final.Could the final match the world class semi finals well yes it did with Carl hitting 3x180s and a 12 dart leg and Darren hitting 3x180s and a 12 dart leg but it went the way of the man from Mexborough as Darren Johnson took the spoils.

Darren Johnson with ref steve Naisbit and Carl Wilkinson
SDM 8

Well this one would be dominated by Returning local legends and the youth players as Tony Darlow would make a welcomed return to SDM and beat all before him.

He would first take on Yorkshire youth rising star Dion Evans and win a close contest. In the 2nd round tony would just edge out Nottinghamshire youth star Max Roberts before beating Pete Bramley finishing off the game with a 108 finish on the bullseye. He would then rattle in 2x12 dart legs in a 4-3 victory over Bob Pinder before been involved in a match with 6 sub 18 dart legs,3 finishers over 100 and 4 maximums with Yorkshire youth captain Charlie Beaumont. In the final he hit two big finishers of 136 and 129 in a 4-0 win over Nick White.

DOGGY BEATS TURBO IN PONTEFRACT CLASSIC

United Sports & Promotions teamed up with Projectdarts to bring you yet another quality tournament full of the best the PDC and BDO the north has to offer and you throw in a mixture of top youth stars and excellent local players and what you have is one hell of a day of darting.......

It was the Pontefract Open held at the Malt Shovel and as expected it was a bumper turnout and it delivered too........

Board 1

Turbo Trevor Burkhill made lived upto his name making quick work of the board in one match hitting 3x12 dart legs and a 15 for good messure but was pushed all the way in the board final from Rick Red Hot Curry who has improved no end this year to prove a worthy opponent for anyone. We also witnessed a future world final perhaps as two youngsters Kyle Bowers and Owen Cubitt squared off in the board q/f with not 25 years between em but plenty of 100 plus scores.

Board 2

This was a RED HOT board as it has a selection of PDC pro tour players as Daz Johnson got ahead against John Jagger and Terry Temple but then found Over the top[ Dean Winstanley a step too far as it was deano who had already beaten Dave Plane and Kelvin Pease to book his place in the board final and go through against Dynamite Johnson.

Board 3

Young Maison Wilson was the star of the board even though he just missed out on the board final as he ran into the inform Mark Helliwell who then found Tom Williams too good and he progressed into the last 8 winning a board that also included Steve Silver and the very talented Dave Wilson and Sam Fordham and youngster Josh Clough.
Taylor Greaves
Board 4

Carl Wilkinson fresh from his Doncaster Open win put in a blinding opening match as he beat Steve O'Donnell in no time at all 4-0 rattling in a selection of big scores and doubles but couldn't find them doubles in the next as he went down 4-3 after leading 3-0 against Wayne Woodhouse. The very Talented Taylor Greaves beat off Kieth Lowcock from Doncaster before Leah Wiltshire and Darfields John Daniels before beating Wayne Woodhouse 4-2.

Board 5

This one had the game of the first round as Jamie Wilson and Dave Copley played out a thrilling 6 leg game going 4-2 in favour of the Dark Knight Dave Copley.but then ran into Dave Smith from Leeds who had already seen off Yorkshires Tom Gregory and Josh Thompson and it was Dave Smith beating the Dark Knight 4-2 to set up a board final against Dean Conoly who had easily seen off Paul Aspinall and Cameron Hinchcliffe.Dave Smith would then win 4-1 to advance to the last 8.

Board 6

Maison Wilson
This was a brilliant board to watch as it was a cluster of good experienced players and the future of darts as Nathan Aspinall beat fellow PDC players Jaron Esteve before having a treble 20 contest against the future of the ladies game Beau and Arrow Beau Greaves and then Nathan would then see off Scunthorpes Mark Wilson who had earlier beaten Mark Lawrence to win the board.

Board 7

Well this board went to LIKE team like that is as Colin Hendry hit some superb darts to overcome rising youth star Jordan Fisher and then Mick Wiltshire.Nigel Daniels and Bob Pinder two of the favourites at the start of the day had to play off in the opening round and it was the man from Buxton going through to take on Charlie Beaumont the Yorkshire youth captain wdging out Big Nigel before going down to Colin Hendry as the captain of team Like advanced to the last 8.

Board 8

Ricardo Cruz
Former Great Britain shot putter Greg Beard hit all the right darts as he flew into the board final with wins over Stuart Harding and Ben Lean only dropping 2 legs in the process Aden Kirk and Brian Dawson had a cracking match as it was Doggy going through 4-3 and then repeated the scorline against Darren weaver before beating Greg in the board final to stamp his position in the last 8

Q/Finals

This was some last 8 line up as Taylor Greaves beat Tom Williams 4-2 in a terrific game which included 4 sub 15 dart legs.Trevor Burkhill produced another 100 plus average as he beat Dean  Winstanly 4-0 to go into the semi finals and Brian Dawson did the same to Colin Hendry.Dave Smith won a thrilling last leg decider over Nathan Aspinall 4-3 to make up the last semi final spot

Semi/Finals

players warming up
Taylor greaves got the better of the early battle with Turbo to lead 1-0 and then again 3-1 before 2x14 dart legs would level the game to 3-3 and both after only a few sets to the board it was both men on the double for the match with taylor narrowly missing leaving Trevor Burkhill to hit the double and take the win in a match that was unlucky to have a losing player and the same can be said for semi number 2 as Dave Smith took the lead over Brian Dawson only for Doggy to claw back to lead 2-1 and then 3-2 before Dave Smith levelled and it go to the decider which Brian Dawson would take with his first at at a double to set up a south Yorkshire final.

Final

Briain Dawson would take the lead 1-0 in this flip flopping final before Turbo would take the next two for a 2-1,Doggy taking out a terrific finish would level the game only to see Trev put in a 13 dart leg to lead 3-2.In the fourth leg Brian would hit a maximum before missing a dart at a double and give Trevor a shot at 98 to take the title only to miss out and Brian level the game.In the last it showed why both men was there as Trevor did nothing wrong sat on a 15 dart leg only for Brian to show everyone why he is a lakeside Q/Finalist hitting a maximum and finishing off a 12 dart leg with a superb 124 on the bull to take the Pontefract Open in great style.Excellent final by both men as they entertained us all and a worthy champion and keeping the Pontefract open in Yorkshire..and we also can see what a bright future the game has too
